Dear Yoga Practitioner,
Let me say thank you for taking a moment to read this letter. I am a firm believer that people's paths cross for a reason and that students always find the right course for them. Before you continue scrolling trough this document, allow me to tell you about my yoga journey.
Back in 2011 my life brought me to South Africa, I was in my early twenties searching for my true passion and trying to figure out what to do with my life. I had just begun my spiritual search for happiness. You see, I had a very religious upbringing, which, nonetheless, provided me with no sense of peace or happiness. I was on a quest for more...
One day I found myself joining a local gym, which also happened to have a timetable for yoga classes. I signed up for my first yoga class. "It was nice", I thought to myself aftewards, but it was not really for me. I signed up to a different class. "Ok, that's interesting.." I started to feel curious about yoga, so I signed up for my third class the same week. After trying a few more classes, I found myself in a Vinyasa based class and the flow of it all - synchronicity of movement and breath - made me feel... at home.
Everything suddenly started to make sense: I felt happy and present while on the mat, the feeling I don't think I experienced before. I remember it so well: lying on my mat in Savasana with my hands on my belly, I looked at the teacher and thought to myself "I want to help others find this too". That moment on I was hooked.
One day, a few weeks later, our yoga teacher was late for the class and so, not being sure if she was going to show up at all, I started practicing on my mat while waiting. There were a few other women in the studio who started following my lead assuming I was an instructor. But it wasn't until after a few classes a week or so later when my teacher came up to me and said "you should do a teacher training, you would be a great teacher". I felt overjoyed that night, so much so, I could not fall asleep!
Two years later, I attended my first yoga teacher training, while taking a paid holiday leave from my corporate job. Two more years later I quit my corporate career and began teaching yoga full-time. Shortly after I opened my first SUP Yoga business in Malta, launched Trapeze Yoga on the island, started to teach internationally: workshops and trainings, appeared on yoga DVDs, had been invited to co-teach both in-person and online trainings, certified a number of teachers in various styles of yoga who now successfully teach yoga for a living.
My biggest project yet is Island Yoga Teacher Training Academy which launched in Malta in February 2020 - right before COVID-19. After spending over €20,000 on my own yoga education and various certifications, it has been my goal to provide high quality yoga teacher trainings locally at a reasonable price and having my own yoga studio Island Yoga finally allowed me to do that.
What was once only a dream is now my reality!
How about you?
I could not possibly know where you are right now in your life. Maybe you - like me - would like to escape your corparate job which does not fulfill you? Maybe you enjoy yoga so much that you feel the calling to share it with others? Maybe you dream of one day travelling the world as a yoga teacher?
What is your goal?
Yoga can be anyting you want it to be, all that is needed is a clear goal and your determination. Teaching yoga will take you to the places you did not know you could reach: inwardly and out. Trust me when I say that if you feel that inner calling for diving deeper into this experience, let there be no doubts and take this letter as a sign, that yes, you can do it too!
It is my true passion, my life's purpose and the reason I am on this earth - to help others discover their potential through the art of teaching yoga. If this training is speaking to you, it would be my absolute honour to guide you trough your yoga journey and help you discover the best version of yourself as a yoga teacher.
Your uniqueness is your super power and this training will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to share your gifts with those around you.

Previous Yoga practice or passionate curiosity.
Where to begin? Everything about the 200hr course was incredible! These past 6 weeks have flown by so quickly, and I will forever treasure them. This course exceeded my expectations.. not only did I learn so much about my own personal yoga practice and how to teach confidently and properly, I also gained so much knowledge in why we should practice yoga and the effects and benefits it has on our body. This course is so informative, a lot of hard work but WORTH IT! I am so happy to have completed this course, and met such lovely people along the way. Rosita is an amazing person through and through, all her experiences and uplifting personality has really helped me through this journey. Can't thank her enough! 100% Recommend, so happy!
I am happy that I chose to study at Island Yoga Malta. The studio is beautiful with a great atmosphere. The curriculum of the course is well-rounded and comprehensive, with knowledgeable and passionate lecturers. The time just flew as the course was so interactive and enjoyable. Rosita is very professional and kind teacher, who was there for us at each step of the way and give us all special, individual attention, so we could reach our goals no matter what is our background and our starting point. I was always a shy person, didn’t like to talk in front of people, however once I finished the course I was ready to teach with confidence. Now I can say that I enjoy talking as I feel the appreciation of the students, when I share the knowledge I got. Teaching gave me something I never experienced before, so the course was definitely worth it.
The 6 week Vinyasa YTT training was one of the most mentally and physically challenging experiences - in the best way! From Day 1, Rosita was always very informative and gave us great tips on advancing our own practice and teaching in general. I loved having access to the studio to enjoy the rest of the classes and got to meet and interact with the different people who come to the studio, further emphasising that sense of community I felt during the training. The classes helped me become stronger and all the lectures and lessons we attended were fun, full of information and easy to understand as we always had Rosita and the lecturers’ help if needed. Overall, it was an experience that changed me and given the chance, I’d do it all over again!
I’ve been practising yoga for a few years now and I’ve never expected to become a teacher one day! I decided to enrol myself to the 200-hour YTT for many reasons: to bring my practice to the next level, to understand better the poses and the philosophy, to work consciously on how to correct my posture and to challenge myself with something extremely new to me. I should say that everything succeeded beyond all expectations. I’m very grateful that I’ve found a teacher and mentor like you, Rosita, who helped me a lot improve my practice, my knowledge and my self-esteem. You constantly supported me during my journey, sharing tips, knowledge and your big passion. Now I’m able to create my own flows, teach classes, work on myself and share yoga with others! A life-changing experience that I will always bring with me. Thank you.
I can genuinely say that I loved every single bit of the training, and so grateful for joining. Enjoyed that we were focusing on the teaching, anatomical aspects and practice. Personally I liked this approach more and it made me want to learn more and more about human body and physical aspects of yoga. Thank you Rosita for the overall amazing experience and for bringing out new skills and characteristics myself and probably other girls never knew we had!
I absolutely loved doing the 200Hr Vinyasa Yoga teacher training at Island Yoga. The course is very well organised, full of interesting lectures and fun teaching practices. Rosita is very charming, supportive, professional and motivational. I would like to say a big thank you to Rosita for making this course an unforgettable experience for me. I have learnt so much about yoga and met great people. Highly recommend it for people who would like to become a yoga teacher or for whose who would like to expand their knowledge on yoga.
