Dear Yoga Practitioner,
Let me say thank you for taking a moment to read this letter. I am a firm believer that people’s paths cross for a reason and that students always find the right course for them. Before you continue scrolling trough this document, allow me to tell you about my yoga journey.
Back in 2011 my life brought me to South Africa, I was in my early twenties searching for my true passion and trying to figure out what to do with my life. I had just begun my spiritual search for happiness. You see, I had a very religious upbringing, which, nonetheless, provided me with no sense of peace or happiness. I was on a quest for more…
One day I found myself joining a local gym, which also happened to have a timetable for yoga classes. I signed up for my first yoga class. “It was nice”, I thought to myself aftewards, but it was not really for me. I signed up to a different class. “Ok, that’s interesting..” I started to feel curious about yoga, so I signed up for my third class the same week. After trying a few more classes, I found myself in a Vinyasa based class and the flow of it all – synchronicity of movement and breath – made me feel… at home.
Everything suddenly started to make sense: I felt happy and present while on the mat, the feeling I don’t think I experienced before. I remember it so well: lying on my mat in Savasana with my hands on my belly, I looked at the teacher and thought to myself “I want to help others find this too”. That moment on I was hooked.
One day, a few weeks later, our yoga teacher was late for the class and so, not being sure if she was going to show up at all, I started practicing on my mat while waiting. There were a few other women in the studio who started following my lead assuming I was an instructor. But it wasn’t until after a few classes a week or so later when my teacher came up to me and said “you should do a teacher training, you would be a great teacher”. I felt overjoyed that night, so much so, I could not fall asleep!
Two years later, I attended my first yoga teacher training, while taking a paid holiday leave from my corporate job. Two more years later I quit my corporate career and began teaching yoga full-time. Shortly after I opened my first SUP Yoga business in Malta, launched Trapeze Yoga on the island, started to teach internationally: workshops and trainings, appeared on yoga DVDs, had been invited to co-teach both in-person and online trainings, certified a number of teachers in various styles of yoga who now successfully teach yoga for a living.
My biggest project yet is Island Yoga Teacher Training Academy which is being launched in Malta in February 2020. After spending over €20,000 for my own yoga education, it has been my goal to provide high quality yoga teacher trainings locally at a reasonable price and having my own yoga studio Island Yoga finally allows me to do that.
What was once only a dream is now my reality!
How about you?
I could not possibly know where you are right now in your life. Maybe you – like me – would like to escape your corparate job which does not fulfill you? Maybe you enjoy yoga so much that you feel the calling to share it with others? Maybe you dream of one day travelling the world as a yoga teacher?
What is your goal?
Yoga can be anyting you want it to be, all that is needed is a clear goal and your determination. Teaching yoga will take you to the places you did not know you could reach: inwardly and out. Trust me when I say that if you feel that inner calling for diving deeper into this experience, let there be no doubts and take this letter as a sign, that yes, you can do it too!
It is my true passion, my life’s purpose and the reason I am on this earth – to help others discover their potential through the art of teaching yoga. If this training is speaking to you, it would be my absolute honour to guide you trough your yoga journey and help you discover the best version of yourself as a yoga teacher.
Your uniqueness is your super power and this training will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to share your gifts with those around you.
Rosita
